State visit by the Indian President to Lisbon/Portugal, April 2025
VIP Mobile accompanies the Indian President on her visit to Portugal
From 1 to 5 April 2025, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, visited Portugal as part of an official state visit. The aim of the visit was to further strengthen bilateral relations between India and Portugal and to open up new opportunities for cooperation in various areas.
VIP Mobile provided comprehensive support for the President and her delegation, ensuring the highest standards of security and comfort. A fleet of armoured vehicles as well as experienced chauffeurs and security personnel ensured that the visit ran smoothly. VIP Mobile coordinated all transfers and accompanied the delegation to official appointments and events.
During her visit, President Murmu met with Portuguese President José Pedro Aguiar-Branco and Prime Minister Luis Montenegro. During the talks with the Prime Minister, possibilities for deepening bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, defence, science and technology as well as renewable energies were discussed. Both sides agreed that there is great potential for joint projects. She agreed with President Aguiar-Branco that a regular exchange between the parliaments of India and Portugal would further strengthen people-to-people relations.
The President also took part in cultural events, including visits to historical landmarks such as the Jerónimos Monastery and Santa Maria Church in Lisbon. She also laid a wreath at the grave of the Portuguese national poet Luís de Camões, honouring the cultural ties between the two countries.
